Administrative Details

All mail and packages should be addressed to students using the following format:

Student Name (first & last, no nicknames)

Residence Hall Name, Personal Mail Number

Students can find their Personal Mail Number (PMN) in the MySCAD Portal under the My Info tab or personal inormation page

MAIL CENTER

The Mail Center is located near the entrance to the Hive in Old Arch Hall under the former railroad trestle and open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and closed on weekends and holidays. Students will receive an email when they have a larger packages to pick up at the mail center. Students can also mail letters and ship packages at the mail center using a prepaid shipping label, credit card, or SCAD cash.

MAIL LOCKERS

The Hive mail lockers are open 24/7 and located in the Hive parking garage near the bus stop. Regularly sized envelopes and smaller packages can be picked up from the mail lockers. Students will receive an email, text, or push notification letting them know they have mail to pick up and will include instructions on how to do so. Students will need to enter an access code or scan the QR code at the kiosk located by the mail lockers to pick up their mail.

MY MAIL SERVICES APP

Students can download the My Mail Services app from Google Play or the App Store to manage pickups, receive alerts, and open mail lockers.
Log in to the app with the following information:

• Code: 1057 
• SCAD Email
• SCAD Student ID

After logging in, check your email for a one-time password

LIMITATIONS

Make sure you don't have things sent to the mail center via Door Dash, Uber Eats, Instacart, or other similar services. Student's residence hall street address should be used for perishable items, including flowers.

SHIPPING TO AN AMAZON LOCKER

To have packages shipped to the Amazon locker at the Hive, add it as an address in your Amazon account:

* You do not need to add the student's name to the address - Amazon will send a pickup code.

* You do not need Amazon Prime to ship to Amazon lockers.

PICKUP FROM AN AMAZON LOCKER

Upon delivery, you will receive a QR or 6-digit access code via email, text, or Amazon notification. Scad will send the student a text or email with the following information:

• Tracking Number
• Locker Number
• Access Code
• Carrier (Amazon)
• Sender
• Additional Noes
• Locker Unit Name (Ex. Hive Bank 3)
• Locker Size

After delivery, students will have 3 calendar days to pick up the package before it is automatically shipped back to Amazon and you receive a full refund.

To open the locker and retrieve your package:

• Look for the check-in kiosk screen
• Scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code
• The screen will display an arrow or animation pointing to the general direction of the locker, and the locker door will automatically click and open
• Take package and close locker door

ITEM LIMITATIONS

The following items cannot be shipped to an Amazon locker:

• Items weighing more than 10 lbs
• Items requiring a box larger than 16 in. x 12 in. x 14 in. 
• Orders valued at more than $5,000
• Third-party items (must be fulfilled by Amazon)
• Hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or items requiring special handling
• Subscribe & Save items
• Items with a release-date delivery
• Items requiring ID verification
• Items shipped internationally

If you try to ship one of these items to an Amazon locker, Amazon will alert you at checkout that the item cannot be shipped there and ask you to pick a different shipping location.

LIMITED AVAILABILITY

Amazon lockers sometimes become full, particularly during the few weeks when students are moving in. Amazon will not allow you to choose the Amazon locker address, stating that the pickup location is full. 

WISHLISTS

Wishlists cannot set an Amazon locker as the default shipping location.
